Most of us are always on the go in some capacity, tasking ourselves to keep things running smoothly or remedying situations that aren’t going as we hoped. Mindfulness gives us the skills to step out of our habitual mode of doing, and allows us to have mindful recognition of what is present here and now.

Practitioners have reported a wide range of benefits from less stress to better sleep. The benefits you will receive will depend on your personal situation and your practice. I encourage you to give it a try and see for yourself. From my experience, some of the benefits you can expect will be:
How long does it take to learn to meditate?
You can learn some of the basics of meditation and mindfulness in a very short time and can begin practicing straight away. Let me help you get started with Mindfulness Mentoring.
My mind is too busy, I don’t think I can meditate.
The eyes see, the ears hear, and the mind thinks. The mind also plans, remembers, judges, criticizes, etc., and for most of us it’s non-stop. The practice of mindfulness meditation involves being curious and observing what the mind is generating, and not about shutting it down.
How much time will I have to commit to practicing?
Just as you can exercise in a formal setting such as a gym or group class, you can also exercise informally when you perhaps stretch or go for a walk. The same applies if you decide to move forward with a meditation practice. You get to choose what works for you and how much time you want to invest.
Do I have to sit cross-legged on a yoga mat or cushion?
Only if you want to. You get to decide which posture is right for you on any given day. You can sit or stand or lie down. You can also practice mindful movement, standing meditation, and walking meditation.
Do you have to practice Buddhism to meditate?
While the roots of mindfulness meditation come from the teachings of the Buddha, the mindfulness meditation I offer is secular in delivery.
Is mindfulness meditation a form of therapy?
No, not in the scope of what I have to offer. However, many therapists and counselors use mindfulness as a therapeutic tool in their practices.
